Our team is a great group of women and men of all (adult) ages, backgrounds, and skills. It's a dynamic group whose common goal is to serve the Moraga-Orinda Fire District and surrounding agencies with staffing and skills that may otherwise be have to be fulfilled by their most critical and constrained resources--firefighters and paramedics.
An amateur radio license is required, but we'll help you get one if you don't already have it. All members are also required to regularly attend our monthly meetings (first Saturday of each month, 9:30-11:30am), to keep pace with the training. You should be in good health for your age, although age is not a criterium for membership. You should be free of medical conditions that might make it difficult for you to stand or walk for extended periods of time, able to work with little rest for at least 12 hours, and able to lift 50 pounds. Also, all team members and prospective members are subject to background checks and other requirements.
